The Morgridge/UW-Madison Metabolism Symposium
May 1 @ 7:30 am - 7:00 pm
This symposium will include presentations by members of the metabolism community, open discussion between attendees, a poster session, and a keynote speaker.
Dr. Charles Burant, Robert C. and Veronica Atkins Professor of Metabolism, from the University of Michigan School of Public Health will be our keynote speaker. Dr. Burant’s research laboratory investigates the mechanisms of insulin resistance and utilizes animal models of diabetes to identify pathways important in understanding diabetes progression. Additionally, his lab also studies adult pancreatic progenitor cells and how they might be used to generate new insulin secreting beta-cells.
A formal listing of the day’s schedule will be sent to attendees once it is finalized.
