As an independent research organization, the Morgridge Institute for Research explores uncharted scientific territory to discover tomorrow’s cures. In affiliation with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, we support researchers who take a fearless approach to advancing human health in emerging fields such as regenerative biology, metabolism, virology and medical engineering. The Audiovisual (A/V) Support Student position provides a unique ground floor opportunity to work with international leaders in computer science and networking research from the nationally-ranked UW-Madison Department of Computer Sciences on network and IT infrastructure support for the Discovery building. The building offers some of the most advanced networking and computing infrastructure in the country in support of world-renowned top researchers. It contains state-of-the-art multimedia, 3-D virtual reality facilities, RFID and a water-cooled server room that can house thousands of CPUs for computer-intensive applications.
The Audiovisual Support Student position will be responsible for providing audio/video technical support for Town Center Events, and state-of-the-art A/V equipped conference rooms within the Discovery Building. Other responsibilities include regular maintenance & testing of A/V systems, operation of multi-media presentations and media recording/streaming equipment.
The Morgridge Institute for Research will be hiring a part-time position to start immediately with the opportunity to extend into this summer. The position offers a flexible schedule and an opportunity to gain great work experience. AM, PM and weekend shifts are available.
The ideal candidate will be working towards a degree in computer science or information technology; knowledge and experience working with audiovisual equipment is required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, with the ability to handle multiple assignments at one time while working independently and effectively under deadlines. We are looking for students who can work 10 – 15 hours per week. Working events on nights and weekends is required.
