In affiliation with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, we support researchers who take a fearless approach to advancing human health in emerging fields such as virology, advanced multi-scale fluorescence and electron microscopy, metabolism and regenerative biology. Description:

The IT Help Desk Student Assistant will be responsible for assisting users with hardware, software and applications problems, and providing IT support with Windows, MAC and Linux desktops and network/server infrastructure, including troubleshooting problems and equipment maintenance. This position provides a unique ground floor opportunity to work with international leaders in computer science and networking research from the nationally-ranked UW–Madison Dept. of Computer Sciences on network and IT infrastructure support for the Discovery building. The building offers some of the most advanced networking and computing infrastructure in the country in support of world-renowned top researchers. It contains state-of-the-art multimedia, 3-D virtual reality facilities, RFID and a water-cooled server room that can house thousands of CPUs for computer-intensive applications.

The Morgridge Institute for Research will be hiring a student to work approximately 10-15 hours per week and start January, 2024 and continue through future academic semesters with possible extension into the summer. Student positions offer flexible schedules and an opportunity to gain great work experience.

Requirements:

Ideal candidates will be working towards an IT Desktop support technician or IT service center/Help Desk technician certificate.
