The Morgridge Institute is hiring a part time Laboratory Assistant. The individual that fills this position will provide laboratory support for the Cantor Lab within the Metabolism Theme. We are seeking a student who can commit to 8-12 hours per week and has availability weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include the following: cleaning and sterilizing lab glassware; disposing of waste materials, including those generated for tissue culture; maintaining a clean laboratory environment; and restocking commonly used supplies.
The laboratory assistant performs foundational support tasks that allow the laboratory to remain highly functional and productive. Successful laboratory assistants are highly motivated and expected to operate independently and under supervision. They are excellent communicators and can efficiently/effectively execute a variety of important and time-sensitive tasks.

Candidates must be working toward an associate or bachelor’s degree. Ideal candidates will have successfully completed a college-level laboratory course in chemistry or biology.
