As an independent research organization, the Morgridge Institute for Research explores uncharted scientific territory to discover tomorrow’s cures. The Morgridge Institute for Research seeks a Student Lab Assistant to work in Dr. Jing Fan’s Metabolism Laboratory starting soon.
- Lab Cleaning: cleaning, dishes and autoclave
- Sterilize tips and pipets
- Prepare media and solutions
- Keep track of supplies
- Assist with experiments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
We are looking for a student who can start by June and work up to 15 hours a week. Hours are flexible. There is also a potential for independent study for students who show initiative and work well in this position.
Ideal candidates will be working towards a bachelor’s degree with a science focus. Prior knowledge and experience with lab equipment is preferred. Candidates must be detail-oriented, demonstrate the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and they must be able to multitask and work under deadlines.
