I am a PhD candidate studying lipid metabolism in the Drosophila female germline. My graduate studies began in Baltimore at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where I joined the Drummond-Barbosa lab before we transferred to Madison. My scientific career first took off while attending Kansas State University where I received a B.S. in Biochemistry. I conducted several years of undergraduate research under Dr. John Tomich and in collaboration with Dr. Lawrence Davis and Dr. Richard Todd. I studied the biodegradability of a peptide nanocapsule, resulting in a first author article. Outside of the lab, I enjoy playing rugby, being at the lake, hiking, and biking.
