I worked in the Poss Lab as part of my graduate program, and I am excited to join the Morgridge Institute! My broad interest lies in understanding how regeneration is programmed. My thesis project focuses on the role of tissue regeneration enhancer elements—a category of genetic elements that regulate gene expression during regeneration. What regulatory messages are encoded in these elements, and how conserved are they throughout evolution? We aim to answer these questions using comparative biology and synthetic biology approaches, with the goal of further decoding the regeneration program.
