Meet the Lab

Meet the Lab is a project to connect middle school classrooms with extraordinary scientists and cutting edge research. These resources help students to understand why lab research is relevant in real life, to understand how scientists solve problems, and to build their own identity as scientists. Meet the Lab is a collaboration between the Morgridge Institute for Research, PBS Wisconsin Education, the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation.

Optical Microscopy in Medicine Lab

In this edition of Meet the Lab, you’ll meet the scientists of the Institute’s Optical Microscopy in Medicine Lab, led by Melissa Skala. Discover how they use lasers to find patterns in cancer cells to help find treatments, and learn about the scientist’s interests and middle school experiences.
