I am an Assistant Scientist developing new computational methods to analyze cryo-electron microscopy images of molecular machines under the direction of Dr. Timothy Grant (Morgridge Institute for Research). This work involves template matching methods to accurately find particles in noisy, corrupted data. Also, I develop machine learning based approaches to treat conformational heterogeneity which arises in Cryo-EM. Ultimately, we aim to understand how different proteins contribute to the specific cellular activities and functional states.
I also spend time developing software that leverages virtual reality to visualize molecular data.
