Included here for download are the required files to build a bioreactor capable of facilitating both magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and optical fluorescence microscopy of 3D cell cultures. It is a novel device designed and fabricated by the authors of the corresponding manuscript published in 2018 (PMID 30652350). Fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) and hyperpolarized [1-13C] pyruvic acid (PA) MRS were performed on 3D cell cultures of 4T1 murine breast cancer cells to study the effects of glucose starvation across cellular and population scales for that published work. Available for download here is a set of files that includes a zip file containing all computer-aided design (CAD) files of the bioreactor assembly, the STL files for the two 3D printed pieces, and the two computer numerical control (CNC) machining files necessary to machine the base of the bioreactor. Feel free to reach out to the corresponding author of the study for additional questions.
